A return receipt acts as a proof or provides evidence of delivery. A return receipt gives a sense of security that a mail item is received by a receiver. The mailer gets return receipt once the item is delivered. The mailer can choose to receive the return receipt electronically or by mail. The following information is provided in the return receipt;
- Date of delivery,
- recipient’s signature, and
- delivery address
The return receipt facility is available only at the time of mailing at an additional fee. Available for Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail, USPS Retail Ground, Media Mail, or Library Mail items. Extra services such as USPS Tracking, Signature Confirmation, Special Handling, Restricted Delivery etc can be included with Return Receipt.
